The spacious rooms offer stunning views and are well-equipped, although the wooden floors can be a bit noisy. The dining experience has its highs and lows, with great food options but some service inconsistencies. It's a lovely place overall, perfect for both tourists and business travelers, although room service is a bit pricey.
The Osel Hotel offers a lovely stay with clean and comfortable rooms, and an unbeatable location just a short walk from downtown Thimphu. The dining experience was a mixed bag, with some meals delightful and others lacking. Overall, it's a great place for sightseeing with the added bonus of excellent pastries and coffee to enjoy during your downtime, though some rooms can be a bit run-down.
The hotel has a nice appearance and is very clean, but it feels more like a basic 3-star establishment rather than a 4-star. The room was spacious with large windows, but there were some drawbacks like the constant humming sound from the bathroom exhaust and limited bathroom amenities. While the location is decent, it could be affected by noise from nearby construction.
I had a pleasant stay at Osel in Thimphu, where the warm and accommodating staff made my family's trip enjoyable. The rooms were clean and spacious, with lovely views to boot. However, the bathroom setup needed some attention, as it often got wet during showers. The food was tasty, though I felt the breakfast could use a bit more refinement in the Indian dishes served.
My stay at OSEL was truly a memorable experience. The spacious corner room offered stunning views and ample comfort, though it could get a bit chilly at times without a thicker blanket. The dining options exceeded my expectations, especially the breakfast buffet. While the location required a bit of a trek uphill, it was worth it for the peace and quiet. I'd suggest being prepared for some nighttime dog barking if you're a light sleeper.
